Mr. Rue Dilhe, Managing DirectorExel Computer Systems plc are the UK based authors of Eagle Field Service. Since the company’s inception in Nottingham in 1985, the team at Exel has been continuously developing, improving and expanding its software solutions, and in many ways, they have helped to deliver some of the advancements made within the manufacturing and service industries. “Over the past 36 years, Exel’s solution has grown from a capacity planning and production solution into a fully comprehensive business solution, incorporating full ERP for Field Service Management, financials, CRM, document management, business intelligence, workflow, and mobile applications,” says Mr. Rue Dilhe, the Managing Director of Exel Computer Systems plc.
Mr. Dilhe mentions that field service systems have traditionally been seen as software to address the service element of a business, and therefore it alienates other areas of the business. Exel has seen that the marketplace is looking for more; systems that will cover all aspects of their business: stock control and warehousing, purchasing, manufacturing, CRM, BI, financials, etc. To this end, Exel’s field service software, Eagle Field Service, was developed as part of its ERP system.
Eagle Field Service provides an end-to-end solution that enables companies to achieve increased efficiency and customer service, maximise profits and build competitive advantage. The software uses the latest innovative internet technology to provide accurate, real-time information to field based engineers and sophisticated management applications for back office operators and management. At the core of the Eagle Field Service solution are the management reporting, document management, workflow and customisation toolkit modules and its underlying technology provides the basis for increased operational efficiency and productivity, leading to improved customer service.
While the Eagle Workflow module automates business procedures and improves operational efficiency by providing a framework for integrating the flow of a company’s business activities, the customisation toolkit functionality enables Eagle Field Service to combine the power and stability of a standard off-the-shelf package with the important added benefit of a system. Further, Eagle Field Service’s service oriented architecture (SOA) allows integration of the system with other systems within the organisation and with external partners. “Having a larger suite of modules available within a single, comprehensive solution allows our field service clients to call upon the functionality required for their particular business, functionality that is unlikely to be available from a stand-alone FSM solution,” states Mr. Dilhe.
Having a larger suite of modules available within a single, comprehensive solution allows our field service clients to call upon the functionality required.
